North Melbourne interim coach Leigh Adams will supervise the season's post-mortem with players early in the week while still unsure of his own AFL future.
Adams, who coaches the club's VFL team as well as having another development role, doesn't yet have an appointment with new senior coach Alastair Clarkson.
"We'll exit our players on Monday and Tuesday this week and then from there it's basically up to Clarko what he's thinking, what he wants to do with his staff," Adams said.
"We would hope sooner rather than later to sit down and have a conversation with him so our coaches can get some clarity on where they're at because it's a really uncertain time for our staff at our footy club.
"We would love to take that out as quickly as possible, but we also understand that we have to do what's best for the players over the next week or so.
"After that, we'll be guided by what Clarko wants to do from there.
"We'll have a conversation on what he thinks is my role going forward.
"I would love it to be with the footy club. I'm happy to give him any of my thoughts going forward.
"I'm sure he has plenty of his own already, but if it can help in any way to shape our list or the way we go forward, I'm happy (to chat)."
Adams had a 1-5 win-loss record after replacing David Noble as caretaker coach and he wants to be part of Clarkson's team for the 2023 AFL season.
"I've loved the chance to try to get this footy club going in the right direction," he said.
"I've got such a passion for this footy club, I've spent 15 years here and I want us to get back to finals as quickly as possible.
"To be given the opportunity to be senior coach for six weeks is a dream come true and I hope I've left it in a better place because as coaches that's what we said we wanted to do for that six weeks period.
"Take out tonight's performance (loss to Gold Coast Suns), I think we've been able to create some positivity around the club.
"And clearly with Clarko coming on board now, it should be a really positive off-season and summer for us."
On whether the bottom-of-the-ladder Kangaroos deserve a priority draft pick, Adams said: "I think what you saw tonight, we're a long way away in terms of consistency over a season.
"If you put our body of work together, we're still nowhere near where we need to be."
