The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon has expressed her approval of the recent ceasefire deal in Lebanon, while also emphasizing the need for continued efforts to ensure its successful implementation. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert highlighted that there is still significant work to be done to fully realize the terms of the agreement.
She stressed the importance of the complete dedication of both parties involved in order to achieve lasting peace in the region. The ceasefire deal has been endorsed by US President Joe Biden, who described it as a permanent cessation of hostilities set to commence at 4 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
