You know the phrase “blink and you miss it”?
That’s how I felt looking at this fastball from Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Bobby Miller, who is tearing up the majors just three years after the franchise made him a first-round pick.
Miller has a 2-0 record, a 1.06 ERA and 16 strikeouts to start his career, and he throws pure gas, as we saw on Sunday Night Baseball with the latest edition of their umpire camera. The view of Miller’s 100 MPH fastball made me once again ponder just how a Major League hitter makes contact with a baseball, let alone a triple-digits fastball:
