Meet Hurston Waldrep. He’s a top pitching prospect and he’s throwing for Florida in the College World Series.
He throws some amazing pitches, which includes a splitter.
And although we’ve seen some serious heat thrown while umpire cams are filming footage, such as Brandon Sproat’s triple digits, or MLB fastballs from the likes of Spencer Strider and rookie Bobby Miller, this one shows just how hard it is to hit a splitter when it’s heading your way.
It looks hittable, and then it looks like it dives a bit, which leads to swings and misses, and that’s the result you see below.
