Ulrika Jonsson has slammed Maisie Smith after she concerned fans with a video of herself crying on social media. Earlier this week, the former EastEnders star shared a 20-second clip that showed her shedding tears as she was comforted by her dog.
The 21-year-old, who is currently starring in Strictly Ballroom, posted the video along with the words "you didn’t deserve me" from the song Evergreen (You Didn’t Deserve Me) by Omar Apollo. Viewers of the video were quick to flock to the comments section with worries for her relationship with The Wanted star Max George, despite Maisie writing in the caption: "Nothing but happiness these days."
But the new, loved-up couple were quick to shut down speculation of a split as the following day, Max took to Instagram to show a video of the pair in the airport. Sharing a video of them settling down in their seats on the plane. "And we're off again," the 34-year-old captioned the footage, as he leaned in for a kiss from Maisie.

And after spending a day clearly making the most of those sun rays, the pair put on a glowing, tanned display in a new Instagram post. Max and Maisie posed up a storm in photos posted to both their Instagram pages which showed a stunning Maisie showing off her gym-honed curves in an animal print midi dress and red heels.
Max, meanwhile, looked smart in a white polo top, beige trousers and black Converse-style trainers with white laces as he gazed into the eyes of his new girlfriend. While it appears Maisie was the one to originally share the images despite them also appearing as a joint post on Max's main grid, she captioned the snap: "Baecation."
But Ulrika has labelled the video as ‘self-indulgent’, saying ‘it stinks of boy that cried wolf’. Writing in her column in The Sun, the TV presenter wrote: "She ensured it was a close-up, so we could actually see the very real tears rolling down her face. Very dramatic."
The 55-year-old then continued: "Now, Maisie’s not the first sleb to engage in this kind of attention-seeking nonsense and I doubt she’ll be the last. What I can’t comprehend is why people feel the need to show they are capable of crying." Admitting she would cry at an advert on telly, she added: "I certainly can’t imagine reaching for my phone mid-personal drama to ensure I captured my tearful moment for people to see."
It comes weeks after Molly-Mae Hague came under fire from Ulrika. She unleashed a furious rant at the pregnant influencer following the Love Island star's recent baby gender reveal. Last month influencer Molly-Mae announced she was expecting her first baby with boyfriend Tommy Fury, three years after meeting on Love Island back in 2019.
Then earlier this month, the 23-year-old mum-to-be revealed the couple were having a baby girl after Molly-Mae shared a gender reveal video with her 6.7 million followers on Instagram. The creative director of PrettyLittleThing shared a sweet video of the pair holding a balloon that read 'boy or girl' with boxer Tommy popping it to unveil pink confetti.
But Ulrika has revealed she found the gender reveal 'tacky' amongst other 'brutal' comments amid a furious rant in her Saturday column for The Sun . The presenter and model, who started her career as a weather girl on GMTV, began her article by asking: "DID I miss something or is Molly-Mae Hague the first woman in the world to become pregnant?" before the former Gladiators host ranted about the gener reveal and Molly-Mae's revelation in a YouTube video where she admitted to 'crying five times a day' at the beginning of her pregnancy.
