Ukrainian troops have retreated from the village of Lastochkyne in eastern Ukraine as Russian forces continue to gain ground in the ongoing conflict. The withdrawal was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Ukrainian army, who stated that the soldiers fell back to nearby villages in an effort to regroup and defend against the advancing Russian forces.

Lastochkyne, located west of Avdiivka, fell under Russian control following a recent battle, highlighting the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces in the region. Despite facing significant losses in troops and equipment, Ukraine is struggling to hold its ground against the superior firepower of the Russian military.

Western analysts report that Russian troops are launching coordinated attacks on multiple fronts, aiming to push further into Ukrainian-held territories in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustan Umerov expressed frustration over delays in Western military support, citing the impact on military planning and the lives of soldiers.

International support for Ukraine remains strong, with leaders from various countries pledging assistance to combat Russia's invasion. A meeting of European heads of state and government in Paris is set to address the escalating conflict and discuss the need for increased military resources for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden is working to overcome political obstacles to provide additional aid to Ukraine, with efforts to convene congressional leaders for discussions on the matter. In the latest developments, Russia launched missiles and drones over Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties in the northeastern Sumy region.

The situation in Ukraine remains fluid and critical, with ongoing efforts to bolster Ukrainian defenses and push back against Russian aggression. The international community continues to monitor the conflict closely, with a focus on providing support to Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
