Ukrainian priest in Liverpool fears war with Russia

The priest of a Ukrainian parish in Liverpool has said that his community fears a full-scale Russian invasion but he remains confident that Western nations are helping tensions in the region to de-escalate.

Amid ongoing conflict, Russia has placed around 130,000 troops on the eastern borders of Ukraine and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson today warned an invasion could take place within 48 hours.

The current conflict between the two nations dates back to 2014, when Ukraine deposed its pro-Russia President Viktor Yanukovych.
