Ireland is know as the land of a thousand welcomes - and some Ukrainian nationals decided they wanted to give back to the country in their own way.
To do that, they got together to pick up litter and clean up the Grand Canal in Dublin around about Portobello.
A tweet from the official account for the Ukrainian community in Ireland read: "Many bags of litter from the footpaths and from the water - #UkrainianCleanups #GrandCanal #Portobello Dublin. "This is our way to say thanks to this amazing country." Great job".
The clean up of the canal was one of many events held by Dublin City Council on Saturday as part of the 'Team Dublin Clean Up' initiative.
People were full of praise for the Ukrainian efforts.
One person wrote: "What a credit to this country and your own"
RTE's Sarah McInerney agreed, writing: "About as decent as it gets, from people fleeing war." while another person simply wrote: "Wow".
The Government estimates that up to 33,000 refugees could be seeking accommodation in Ireland by the end of May.
