'Ukraine will never surrender': Supporters to gather in Newcastle today in show of solidarity

Ukrainian nationals and supporters are meeting today in Newcastle to show solidarity against Russia's assault on Ukraine.

Lesya Bourne, 51, moved to Gateshead from her home in Ukraine in 2004 to live with her British husband, has helped to organise the demonstration which will go ahead at Newcastle's Grey's Monument between 2-4pm today, Saturday 26 February.

The event was planned on the Facebook group called Ukrainians in Newcastle, which have been focused recently on ways they can support their country from England.
