Ukraine Opens Hotline For Kursk Region Evacuations

24-hour hotline set up for Kursk region residents seeking evacuation to Ukraine.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister has announced the establishment of a 24-hour hotline for residents of the Kursk region in Russia who may be seeking to evacuate to Ukraine. The decision comes in response to potential humanitarian challenges in the neighboring territories of the Kursk region.

The Ministry of Reintegration in Ukraine has taken this proactive step to assist those in need of humanitarian aid or those considering evacuation to Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that Ukraine is committed to upholding international humanitarian laws and ensuring the safety and well-being of civilians from the Kursk region.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities have issued a mandatory evacuation order for the village of Glushkovo in the Kursk region. The decision to evacuate residents was made by the regional operational headquarters following the reported Ukrainian incursion into Kursk.

Located just 10 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and approximately 117 kilometers southwest of Kursk city, Glushkovo is at the center of the evacuation efforts. The process will be coordinated by law enforcement agencies, the Russian military, and local government officials.

As of now, the exact number of individuals affected by the evacuation order remains unclear. Both Ukrainian and Russian authorities are taking steps to address the evolving situation and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the region.
