Ukrainian forces have recaptured a village near Bakhmut in a “lightning operation” after fierce fighting with Russian troops, the country’s military announced on Friday.
The village Andriivka is six miles from the Russian-held town Bakhmut in Donetsk region, and has witnessed weeks of heavy fighting as part of Ukraine’s continuing counteroffensive.
