Wednesday will see another batch of wet weather which will affect most of the UK at some point across the day before brightening up for the Easter weekend.
Following a miserable March, which was the wettest in 40 years in England, the start of the week saw sustained dry conditions with much needed sunshine added to the mix.
However, weather fronts from the Atlantic are set to head eastwards over the course of the Wednesday, bringing wet conditions across the UK which could continue into the start of Thursday.
The rain hit Northern Ireland on Tuesday evening before making its way over to western Scotland in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Wind gusts of up to 35mph are also expected with the Isle of Man most affected.
Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey said: "Underneath all that cloud, temperatures will not be dropping too far at all and it will be a much milder night compared to what we have seen of late. Temperatures only up around 7C and 9C, but down in the southeast it will be a much chillier one.
"It's going to be a case of us watching that band of rain gradually push its way eastwards, but it is going to make rather slow progress pushing across Scotland, northern England, into southwest and central England. The southeast will get away with a largely dry day.
"An improving picture for Northern Ireland and western Scotland, where we see the sunshine developing a little later on in the afternoon as well.
"It is here in the northwest and the southeast where temperatures will just climb that bit higher, thanks to that sunshine highs of 12C and 13C.
"Where you're stuck underneath that cloud and the rain throughout the day, it's not going to feel particularly pleasant, around 9 to 11 degrees."
The rain is expected to continue its way eastwards in the evening, with the weather front "finally" reaching the far southeast before eventually edging its way into the North Sea.
Plenty of cloud cover will ensure another mild night with temperatures just dipping under double digits despite still being breezy.
According to Mr Vautrey, Thursday appears to be the "a day of sunny spells and scattered showers".
