Brits are set for a mix of sunshine and showery spells with the temperature reaching up to 30C in the east of England on Sunday.
The outlook is mixed over the weekend due to showers coming in from a low pressure area over the Atlantic and they are likely to be heavier on Sunday in the west of the UK.
But the eastern side of the UK is likely to escape most of the rain as it is influenced more by a high pressure system from the Continent.
It follows a wet Friday with a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms having been in place for the South West. There were some heavy showers and Nottingham had more rain in two hours than in the previous three weeks.
BBC weather forecaster Chris Fawkes said: "There is more rain to come over the next few days, but little as you can see over parts of southern and eastern England, which continues to be one of the driest parts of the UK this month - and it is an exceptionally dry month.
"Now looking at the weekend’s weather prospects, low pressure is set to move in bringing rain mostly concentrated across northerly and westerly areas, some warm air coming up on the south westerly winds affecting eastern parts of the country.
"We start off with a band of rain in Northern Ireland, that will move into western Scotland, western areas of England and Wales seeing a little bit of rain as well but the further east you are the less likely you are to see some rain . So not much at all for eastern Scotland, across East Anglia and southern areas of England which has seen barely a drop of rainfall this month it continues to be dry and pretty warm actually with 25C, 26C in the best of the sunshine."
Looking to Sunday the temperatures are likely to rise up to 30C in the east but it is a brief hot spell as next week is set to be cooler generally.
"Sunday there is more rain in the forecast, this time there is better prospects of seeing some wetter weather moving into south Wales and of course that is one of the areas that has been particularly dry this month," said Mr Fawkes.
"The heaviest rain will again be affecting Scotland and Northern Ireland, notice little if anything across central and eastern England. Temperatures a little higher on Sunday feeling a bit more humid, temperatures widely getting up to 20C-23C however, across parts of eastern England it is a hot one, temperatures 26C to even 30C in parts of East Anglia."
