Autumn looks to be making a rude arrival this year as Britain is buffeted by multiple waves of stormy weather.
Heavy rain, high winds and thunderstorms will arrive at the end of the week and begin a period of unsettled conditions coming across the Atlantic, according to forecasters.
New weather radar maps from WXCharts show the first of the storms making landfall in Northern Ireland in the early hours of Friday (September 2) morning, with torrential rainfall of up to 10mm per hour possible in some areas.
