Two regions in the UK have been hit with flood alerts for the weekend - one in England and a flood warning in Scotland.
Although seven flood warnings in England have been removed in the past 24 hours, one alert remains in place in the Lake District.
Mist and fog, meanwhile, could plague some areas for the duration of Saturday morning according to forecasters, but even in grey areas temperatures remain well above average for the time of year.
Concerning potential flooding, meanwhile, the Environment Agency said: "Lake levels will remain high over the weekend but continue to slowly fall at Derwentwater.
"Areas most at risk include low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site. Continue to avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."
North of the border a flood warning update has been issued for Strathglass in the North West Highlands going into the weekend.
A statement from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) said: "Agricultural land in Strathglass is at risk of flooding. The main band of rain has cleared the area. The river levels are still high and are expected to fall slowly overnight and into the morning."
For the rest of the country Met Office Meteorologist Alex Deakin said it will be a mild start for most, but with mist and fog in some areas, which he explained 'can take a while to clear at this time of year'.
"Generally speaking it's a brightening up kind of day on Saturday with a bit of sunshine," he added. "Temperatures are still well above average - even where it stays a bit glum - we are looking at highs of 13 or 14 (in those areas)."
Snow could hit parts of northern England and Scotland this month, meanwhile, as the mild weather comes to an end, forecasts suggest.
An interactive Snow Risk map on website Netweather predicted a flurry of snow could fall in the Scottish highlands as early as next week, before wintery conditions spread into northern England towards the end of the month.
The most northerly parts of Scotland are most likely to see snow toward the end of the month.
Meanwhile, the Met Office said it expected the current mild conditions to continue for another five days at least before the weather turns more unsettled, with rain, strong winds and lower temperatures.
