Great Britain is set for a spell of sustained mild weather in the build-up for a warmer Easter weekend as the UK looks to shrugs off a miserable March.
Last month, England recorded its wettest March in more than 40 years after 111.3mm of rain fell - 91 per cent more than average.
According to Met Office figures, Wales and Northern Ireland also had one of their top 10 wettest Marches on record, but Scotland's rainfall was only 3% above average at 128.7mm.
Wales had 197.5mm of rain, some 91% more than its long-term average, whilst Northern Ireland saw 137.4mm of rain, 58% more than average. Despite the wet weather, it did benefit England's reservoirs as water levels appear to have increased.
And talking of warm weather, the UK is set to heat up over the course of the week in the build up to Easter weekend.
Met Office meteorologist Steven Keates said that "strong April sunshine" should hit our shores, with Scotland reaching low double digits while temperatures elsewhere will bounce back to around 13C and 14C.
Mr Keates said: "For some of us on Tuesday morning, we will be scraping cars first thing but it will be compensated for by lots of sparkling sunshine. A really lovely start to the day.
"And for many parts of eastern, central and southern England, blue skies will once again be the main theme through Tuesday.
"Further to the north and west though, we'll start to see more high clouds spilling across parts of Wales, northern England , eastern Scotland to tell you the sunshine is a little bit hazy of what promises to be a very blue sky start.
"For the north west still, and for Northern Ireland and the westernmost parts of Scotland; the clouds still thick in full, some bits and pieces of light rain and drizzle, but on the whole it's not amounted to much."
More "meaningful" rain will head eastwards on Tuesday night with north west Britain and much of Northern Ireland set to be wetter on Wednesday morning.
Despite cloud cover bringing rain, it will keep warmer overnight temperatures with much of Britain ranging from 5C and 9C. Although far southeast England may still see frost heading into Wednesday.
Mr Keates added that by Good Friday, pressure should be building from the Atlantic and "we'll see a fair amount of dry weather with the return of some sunshine".

Rain and showers spreading east through Wednesday, lingering in places on Thursday before becoming settled from the west, with drier conditions for most on Friday, sunshine but patchy overnight frost.
