Parts of the UK are bracing for a torrent of heavy rain and strong gusts after the Met Office issued a severe weather warning.
A yellow weather warning for wind and rain is in force for a large swathe of the east of England until 6am on Wednesday.
In its warning the Met Office said those within the affected area should expect a chance of 'heavy rain and strong winds' that may cause 'flooding and disruption.'
People have been told to expect a chance that home and businesses may flood, causing damage to buildings as well as road closures and difficult driving conditions.
There is also said to be a chance of power cuts and loss of services along with travel disruption.
The weather warning was in place from 9pm on Tuesday and will be lifted this morning.
A statement from the Met Office said: "An unseasonably deep area of low pressure is expected to bring disruption to parts of continental Europe on Wednesday.
"For the UK, the most likely scenario is for some heavy overnight rain and strong coastal winds across eastern England, clearing early on Wednesday without impacts.
"However, there is a small chance that rain will become much heavier for a longer period across parts of east Norfolk and east Suffolk, producing 50 to 100 mm in six hours and bringing a risk of flooding and disruption. There is also a very small chance of gusts 50 to 60 mph near the coast, which could also cause some disruption."
One flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency covering Tidal Thames riverside from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir.
An earlier more serious flood warning for Somerset coast at Porlock Weir has since been removed.
Elsewhere Brits can expect a mixed day with plenty of rain and much milder temperatures than in recent weeks.
The worst affected areas for rain are expected to be in the south east along with the far northwest of Scotland.
Meanwhile in longer range forecasts higher temperatures have been predicted for mid-July that could see the mercury soar to above 30C.
Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, told the Mirror there is a 60% chance of temperatures hitting at least 35C in the second half of July.
