Residents are furious after their local Business Improvement District (BID) banned hoodies to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Locals in Romford have branded the move the "most stupid thing" after anyone visiting the town will not be allowed to wear ski masks, hoodies or helmets that cover their face as part of a trial scheme.
The use of face coverings for health or religious reasons is still permitted.
