UK temperatures expected to soar on Monday but heavy rain could cause disruption

The UK’s “extreme” cold weather is set to subside amid surging temperatures on Monday but heavy rain could lead to flooding and travel disruption in parts of England and Wales.

After freezing conditions in recent days, Monday could bring highs of 14C or 15C in south-west England and north Wales, a Met Office meteorologist said.
