A batch of frozen fruit has been pulled from sale in UK shops due to the presence of hepatitis A.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall notice for certain packs of the Ardo Frozen Fruitberry Mix, due to it being unsafe to eat. The iced fruit product contains a mix of red currants, strawberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, raspberries and blueberries.
The FSA warned that the virus can make people ill and symptoms can last for a number of months. Signs of the virus include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, dark-coloured urine and jaundice (a yellowing of the skin).

The affected products have the batch codes: 58622130, 58622131 and 58622131. Best before dates are: November 2024 and May 2024.
The FSA advised: "If you have bought this product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
Ardo has also blocked all current stock of the Fruitberry Mix for further analysis after 10 to 15 people became ill and were hospitalised after consuming the product. A spokesperson said: "In the meantime all these people are now recovered."
