UK's weirdest holiday lets including a UFO, Hobbit hut and the real Spice Bus

Brits looking for fun and unusual UK holidays can stay in a UFO, Hobbit-hole like mini-home and the original Spice Bus.

As well as its many stretches of beautiful countryside and buzzing cities, the UK has some truly remarkable properties on offer for those looking to stay in the country this year.

People looking for something a little different have hundreds of unusual properties to choose from across the UK, including some holiday homes that have gone hard on specific themes.

To coincide with a new £8million fund for aspiring Airbnb owners who plan to build an ambitious and weird property, the company has shared some of its most unusual UK lets.

The Willow, Pembrokeshire

A lovely little cubby hole (airbnb.co.uk/rooms/42043514)

If you've ever wanted to pretend you're a Hobbit, and you like north Wales, then you're in luck.

This unique property has large, round wooden doors, much like the cosy homes in the Shire.

Inside the décor is much more modern than that favoured by the Hobbits, with clean white lines providing a minimal yet comfortable feel.

As well as a full kitchen, two smart TVs and WiFi, the property has its own wooden hot tub and a grassed garden.

"Guests will love it as it’s very private and has amazing views, it’s location is perfect, as it’s close to town, beautiful beaches all the coast has to offer," its Airbnb description reads.

The Willow sits just 2.8 miles to the historic town of Pembroke in Pembrokeshire, with nearby beaches including Broadhaven and Barafundle Bay.

Airship 2, Drimnin

Get ready for some impressive sweeping Highland vistas and space, right from the deck of this unusual stay.

The insulated aluminium pod was designed by Roderick James and overlooks the Sound of Mull.

Settled on the banks of a loch in Drimnin, this property is a tiny home that has been crafted to look like a 1970s spaceship of the future.

"Retreat to the deck of this sustainable getaway and gaze at the twinkling constellations under a cosy tartan blanket," its description tempts.

The UFO, Pembrokeshire

Another starship themed property, and another one in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.

This iconic holiday home is close to the beach resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot, with their white sandy beaches and picturesque Harbours, and allows guests to pretend they're aliens for the weekend.

The spaceship consists of a double bed and two single beds, which can be used as sofas.

There is a dining area, wardrobe, basic facilities including kettle and microwave, and a monitor for gaming classic 80's games like space invaders and defender.

The hatch is remote controlled and there is an escape hatch in case of emergency.

The Spice Bus, The Isle of Wight

You can stay in a piece of UK film and pop history (airbnb.co.uk)

Do you love the Spice Girls? Have you rewatched Spice World dozens of times? Then you're in luck - you can now stay in the real Spice Bus.

It's been given a bit of an interiors makeover but there are plenty of nods and tributes to the iconic girl band.

"The bus has the bonus of being situated in a stunning location overlooking Island Harbour Marina," reads the listing description. "There is a bar, restaurant, and a small shop on site. You can reach us by land, sea, or air!"

The outside of the bus is decorated in the famous Union Jack exterior.

"Inside, as huge fans of the band, we have tried to include as many little touches as possible, inspired by the girls and their music, to make the interior just as iconic as the outside!" the description continues.
