UK's Sam Ryder declared Eurovision 'winner' before final has even started after rehearsal vote

A rehearsal vote during the rehearsal of Eurovision meant that the UK's hopeful, Sam Ryder, was announced as the winner. Unfortunately this doesn't mean that the Brit has won the actual competition, as the live final won't take place until 8pm GMT later this evening (Saturday, 14 May).

But we can all remain hopeful as the bearded singer, 32, is tipped as one of the favourites to win, according to the bookies. Although he still has to face off against the favourites, Ukraine's hip hop band Kalush Orchestra who will be standing in his way.

In what could be a positive omen, Sam was called as the winner during Friday afternoon’s rehearsal, reports Chronicle Live. Although, some are unsure whether that was actually a good thing or not.
