A massive new Nerf experience centre is finally set to open its doors inside Trafford Palazzo. It was almost two years ago when plans for the NERF Action Xperience (NAX) were first announced.
Sadly it won't be open for the start of the school holidays, but it will open a week or two before schools are back, on August 25.
The 'family-friendly' experience - the first location in a UK-wide rollout of NERF Action Xperience venues over the next five years - will feature 'a multitude of action-packed indoor activities and themed arenas'.

The five themed arenas will include
Sports @ NERF AX – a dedicated active play zone where players get their hearts pumping with seven different sports inspired games
Training Ground – a zone where players can test their NERF blaster skills with eight digital target games
Chaos City – a post-apocalyptic urban city blaster adventure
Mission X – a cargo bay or marooned spaceship blaster arena
Project Stealth – a classified testing bunker blaster arena
The attraction will also feature a restaurant from American-inspired chain Archie’s, renowned for its high-quality food, extravagant menu and vibrant décor. It'll be serving up its customer favourites, from burgers and fries to waffles and shakes.
And it'll also house the UK’s first NERF dedicated retail store, an 8,000 square foot shop selling hundreds of NERF products as well as bespoke NERF AX merchandise.
It's all been made possible after Manchester-based leisure group Rocafella Leisure successfully secured the rights with global branded entertainment company Hasbro to bring the NAX to the UK.
Chris Hayes, chief executive of Rocafella Leisure Group, said: “We’re so excited to be opening our doors this summer, just in time for the school holidays.
“We’ve worked exhaustively with our partners Hasbro to curate and deliver, what we know will be, a first-class venue for highly active, fun-filled, and adrenaline-packed activities and challenges for all the families and adults.
"The UK hasn’t seen anything like this before so we simply can’t wait for people to join us and see what’s in store. It’ll be an unparalleled experience full of action and thrills for everyone.”
The business, inside the former Barton Square and next to Trafford's huge Primark store, has created around 50 new jobs.
Guests will get an hour playing NERF and will need to be a minimum of age five to play. It's recommended children under eight are accompanied by a paying adult. Ages 12 and under need an adult inside the venue at all times. Adults can play too.
