The UK's biggest outdoor cinema tour has confirmed it will be coming to Bristol this summer. Tickets are on sale now for Adventure Cinema, which sees an eclectic mix of classics, musicals, big blockbusters and family films to enjoy during the day and at night.
Adventure Cinema's open-air screenings bring the magic of film to stunning outdoor venues across the UK, from medieval castles to country estates. Ticketholders are welcome to pack a picnic and lounge on the grass, bring their own deck chairs or book some of the luxury chairs available for an extra fee at each screening.
Last year, organisers were forced to cancel some of their screenings at Clifton Downs due to "an ongoing external safety concern around the perimeter". A statement on social media said that Adventure Cinema was left with no "option but to cancel all shows to assure everyone involved is kept safe".

This year, the event is programmed to be in Queen Square for the Bristol leg of the tour showcasing some of the biggest blockbusters of 2022 from August 4-6, 2023. Titles include the popular sequel Top Gun: Maverick, Baz Luhrmann's glitzy Elvis biopic and Matilda the Musical.
Standard tickets are on sale for £15.50 each and premium tickets - luxury deck chair in a prime position - available for £21.50 per person. Child tickets are available for standard spots for under 12s, priced at £9.50.
Hot food and snacks will be sold on the premises well as a well-stocked on-site bar. Picnics are encouraged but alcohol must not be brought in and only purchased on site.

- Matilda the Musical (PG) - Friday, August 4 at 2pm.
- Top Gun: Maverick (12) Friday, August 4 at 8pm.
- The Greatest Showman - sing-a-long - Saturday, August 5 at 2pm.
- Mamma Mia! (PG) - Saturday, August 5 at 8pm.
- Encanto (PG) - Sunday, August 6 at 2pm.
- Elvis - Sunday, August 6 at 6.45pm.
