A 500 year-old inn and a B&B where guests get cake on arrival have been recognised in the annual AA B&B awards.
The competition celebrate the very best of Britain's B&Bs across eight categories including Friendliest B&B of the Year; Inn of the Year and Guest Accommodation of the Year for England.
The winning list serves as a great guide for where's good to visit this summer and the high standard of guest houses across the country.

Friendliest B&B of the Year: The Hideaway at Windermere, Cumbria
Quietly tucked away in a lovely location, this beautiful Victorian Lakeland house is personally run by owners Richard and Lisa.
Natural friendliness is how the Hideaway likes to brand itself.
It was recognised for its attentive service, with all guests being offered a slice of homemade cake on arrival.

Moor of Rannoch, Perth & Kinross
Inn of the Year: The Farrier, North Yorkshire
Situated on the North Yorkshire coastline, The Farrier boasts individually designed bedrooms all decorated with an equestrian theme – a nod to the property’s blacksmith origins.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in the restaurant, which offers AA Rosette-standard cooking.
Guest Accommodation of the Year for England: Highcliffe House, Devon
Highcliffe House sits in a stunning location with breath-taking views across the dramatic North Devon coastline.
Inside the building there are large and inviting public areas with a breakfast, served in the Orangery dining room, which AA describes as a "tour de force".
Guest Accommodation of the Year for Scotland: The Meikleour Arms, Perth & Kinross
Built in 1820, this country estate inn has enjoyed increased popularity in recent years and has expanded its range of contemporary bedrooms.
The restaurant is award winning and serves food with a Gallic twist, incorporating ingredients from the local estate.
Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales: The Bear at Crickhowell, Powys
Situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this family-run historic inn has been welcoming guests for over 500 years.
Hospitality has always been at the heart of this property and guests can be assured of a truly warm welcome from the team.
Breakfast of the Year for England: Dorset House, Dorset
The emphasis at this friendly Lyme Regis B&B is on healthy home-made breakfasts.
Many of the dishes are made by joint proprietor Lyn; the ginger and cranberry granola and sourdough apple cake are must-trys.
The menu also changes daily to offer longer-stay guests a wide variety of options.
Breakfast of the Year for Scotland: Arden Country House, West Lothian
Breakfast at Arden Country House is truly a great occasion – expect daily baking, and a choice between tasty lighter options and a first-class traditional cooked breakfast.

Breakfast of the Year for Wales: Peterstone Court, Powys
This Grade II listed house in the beautiful Brecon Beacons is impressive in lots of ways – including its breakfast.
The kitchen is at the heart of operations and serves up a tempting range of dishes, including Welsh rarebit, all featuring quality ingredients cooked to perfection.
