UK ramps up response to monkeypox as it designates it ‘notifiable disease’

British doctors will be on high alert for new cases of Monkeypox as it is made a notifiable disease in law, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said.

It means from Wednesday all doctors in England are required to notify their local council or local Health Protection Team (HPT) if they suspect a patient has Monkeypox.
