UK pension age could rise to 68 years much earlier than initially expected

The age when retired people receive their pension could rise to 68 several years earlier than expected, it has been claimed.

Retirement thresholds will rise to 67 by 2028 and 68 by 2039.

Ministers, however, are believed to be considering bringing this in as soon the mid-2030s.
