UK McDonald's customers 'devastated' at 'adult' Happy Meal announcement

A lot of British McDonald's fans have been left disappointed after the fast food giant confirmed the news regarding their 'adult' Happy Meals.

Customers were initially really excited about the announcement that McDonald's would be spreading their Happy Meal happiness to adults as well as children. However, as reported by Chronicle Live, it turns out these new meals are only available in the States.

A McDonald's spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News : "We have no plans to roll this out in the UK."

This piece of news was shared far and wide on social media, and fans on Facebook were less than impressed. One Facebook user wrote: "No happiness for the UK!"

Another said: "I imagine there must be a distinct lack of happy adults in the UK."

And a third wrote: "Absolutely devastating. [...] I won’t sleep at night knowing I won’t get an adult happy meal."

More commented: ""That doesn't make me HAPPY at all."

Another added: "We're getting the miserable Karen meal."

Other stated: "Don’t tell Jamie Oliver."

And more suggested: "They should offer a smaller meal option for adults like a happy meal size though, not everybody can eat a full meal - elderly people or ones without a big appetite probably feel full up on a happy meal."

One noted: "I'd still buy the kids one for myself I've been having them for donkeys years."

Another commented: "Happy meals aren't just for kids, it says 'happy meal'."

While, other fans couldn't help but poke fun at the announcement. One said: "What’s so special?? Does it come with an “Adult Toy”?!? Hahaha."

Another wrote: "I wonder what the toy will be." A third added: "Uk wouldn’t allow the toy selection."

And finally, one said: "Because it will probably have adult toys in it and everyone is prude over here."
