UK holiday-goers could be faced with a rise in alcohol prices if they travel to Spain.
It comes as the country is pushing to implement European Union tax rises on alcohol. Health professionals are urging Spanish government officials to increase the price of alcoholic drinks and raise the legal drinking age, in a draft bill aimed at preventing underage drinking.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Spanish authorities have now brought in new legislation that could help keep some costs at bay. As of April 11, all bars and restaurants across the country are legally required to offer free tap water as an alternative to bottled water, which customers must pay for.
