UK heatwave: Aldi shoppers rush to buy 'handy' drink product perfect for soaring temperatures

In recent days, temperatures across the country have been soaring to highs of 20C with the Met Office issuing an amber warning for parts of England due to the extreme heat.

However this is set to rise even further with weather experts forecasting even higher highs with some parts of Scotland reaching nearly 30C next week.

Because of the warm days - and warm nights - people have been struggling to keep cool making it hard to sleep at night.

And whilst experts have been handing out some much-needed advice on how to stay cool at night as well as how to keep your pets safe during the UK heatwave, there's nothing quite like a refreshing drink in the sun.

And it seems as though one person has found a great addition to make your drinks even better. Taking to Facebook's Aldi UK shoppers group, one person shared with the groups 226.5k members their latest find.

They cost less than £2. (Aldi UK shoppers.)

Listed on Aldi's website, their Four Seasons Lemon and Lime slices cost just £1.49. And because they stay in the freezer, not only can they make your drinks look great when it comes to presentation but it can act as ice to make your drink extra cool and all that more refreshing.

Taking to the comments, many people were wanting to rush to the store to grab them as temperatures soar with many hailing them as a genius addition to drinks and food.

One said: "My autistic step-daughters would love this. They like the sensation of sour and citrus and would save a fortune on fruit buying fresh."

Another added: "I never thought of freezing the remainder of fresh lemons & limes!"

"Must look out for these, haven't seen them in our Aldi yet. I buy Aldi fresh lemons for G & T then slice & freeze what I don't use. These are fantastic tho , you can always have lemon slices for drinks & fish, & lime ones for a change. Thanks for sharing" a third wrote.
