The UK Foreign Office has updated its guidance across Spain and Portugal, as Storm Oscar continues to hit the coastal holiday hotspots hard. The Canary Islands, Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores are all affected by the guidance - with travellers urged to follow instructions of local authorities in the areas.
Weather warnings have also been issued by the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET), as well as the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IMPA). Meanwhile, the Met Office of the UK previously warned of massive waves and possible flooding abroad through the vicious storm.
The UK Foreign Office's guidance for Portugal reads as: "Storm Oscar is forecast to bring heavy rain and strong winds to Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 June. There are weather warnings in place, please see the website of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere for details.

"You should check with your tour operator or accommodation provider before you travel and follow the instructions of local authorities."
The Canary Islands on the North West coast of Africa are expected to be affected by winds of up to 55mph until Thursday, June 8. Meanwhile a red weather warning has been installed across Madeira until tomorrow, with respective winds predicted to hit as high as 68mph.
Elsewhere, a yellow weather warning for big waves has been instilled by IMPA across the Azores. It is thought that mainland Portugal and Spain will be left unaffected by the brash conditions.
