The University of Kentucky Board of Trustees has approved a $6.8 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year. It represents the largest in the institution’s history. The spending plan is 21% larger than last year’s original budget. It’s a reflection of the acquisition and integration of King’s Daughters Medical Health System in Ashland into the university. Tuition is slated to increase by 2.7% for in-state undergraduates. UK Enrollment is anticipated to reach about 33,000 with the freshmen class totaling a record number of around 6400.
