The Georgia Bulldogs softball team is the third-ranked team in the NCAA’s softball power rankings. Only Oklahoma and Texas are ranked ahead of Georgia. The Bulldogs are 13-1 and have avenged their one loss of the season (to Virginia Tech).
Georgia softball’s recent 2-1 win over No. 8 Clemson is not factored into the most recent edition of the NCAA’s power rankings, but that result would only help the Bulldogs. Michella Chester explained why she had Georgia as the third-ranked softback team in her top-10 power rankings.
The Dawgs too picked up their first loss of the season at the hands of Virginia Tech. Lost by 1 run but followed it up with a 7-4 win over them the next day. Still a top 3 team.
Georgia softball’s next games are on March 1 against No. 20 California and Boise State. The Dawgs also face California (again) and No. 11 Stanford on March 2. Georgia finishes the weekend with another game against Stanford on March 3.
