The Georgia Bulldogs softball team fell to No. 6 in the NCAA’s softball power rankings. Georgia suffered two losses over the last week to No. 20 California and No. 11 Stanford. Georgia still managed to go 3-2 last week.
The Dawgs added a pair of ranked wins. UGA beat No. 2 California 4-2 in the first game of that series. Additionally, Georgia picked up an impressive 2-1 win over No. 8 Clemson. Stanford, who is No. 5 in the power rankings, broke Georgia’s heart with a 3-1 win in extra innings over the Bulldogs.
No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 LSU and No. 4 Duke are the other teams ranked ahead of Georgia. The Bulldogs are 15-3 and look like contenders to win the SEC.

Georgia notched two losses — one to Cal and the other to Stanford. The Bulldogs did win the mid-week against Clemson via a Jayda Kearney walk-off. This team can move right back up.
Georgia softball’s next games are all at Turner Softball Stadium in Athens, Georgia. Georgia hosts Miami (Ohio) on Friday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Dawgs’ next game.
