UFC star Jon Jones filmed headbutting police car during arrest in Las Vegas

Footage from UFC star Jon Jones ' arrest last year has shown him headbutting a police car and leaving a dent in the vehicle.

Jones was arrested in Las Vegas last September on charges of alleged domestic violence and vehicle damage after being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his 2013 light-heavyweight title fight with Alexander Gustafsson.

Security was called to the hotel Jones was staying in and observed Jesse Moses, Jones' fiancee, bleeding from her mouth.

Moses gave a statement to police officers and said that Jones got “a little physical” with her in front of their three children.

In a newly released video of his arrest, obtained by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Jones can be heard accusing police officers of arresting him because he is black.

“Humiliating me [on] my Hall of Fame night,” Jones is heard telling the police offers on the video. “You f***ing nerd. I hate you. I hate you. You f***ing nerd. I hate you so much."

“Say your name publicly. ... You turned me in my Hall of Fame night, just because I’m big and black. And what did I do? .... I came from my Hall of Fame ceremony, and I’m black, and I did nothing to you.”

One of the arresting officers then indicates Jones is under the influence of alcohol, to which he starts jumping up and down before being controlled by the officers.

“Bro, hang me. Hurt me and kill me. What did I do?” Jones said. “A black man can’t drink? Getting elected into the Hall of Fame, and this is what I’ve got?”

Jones is then seen headbutting the bonnet of the police car which, according to the report, left “a medium size dent as well as chipping of some of the paint on the vehicle”.

He targeted racial slurs at the officers before being placed in the back of the patrol car as the officers assessed the damage to the bonnet.

The UFC star was released on the same night of the incident after posting bail and later pleaded no contest to a lesser misdemeanour charge of destroying property.

Jones was facing a misdemeanour domestic battery charge and injuring or tampering with a vehicle valued at $5,000 or more, but court records show both charges have been dismissed.

The 34-year-old was also ordered to complete anger management counselling as part of his deal.

Jones - who hasn't fought in two years - is hopeful of returning to the UFC in April or July of this year and fighting for the heavyweight title.

'Bones' is widely considered as one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time, but has been plagued by multiple legal issues during his career.
