Tainara Lisboa’s UFC debut was an impressive one.
A new addition to the women’s bantamweight division, Lisboa (6-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) showed a wide range of skills against Jessica-Rose Clark. Whether it was on the feet with sharp striking, or on the mat flexing her BJJ skills, Lisboa proved she can do a little bit of everything en route to her submission of Clark (11-9 MMA, 4-5 UFC) at 4:20 of Round 3 of the opening bout at UFC on ABC 4 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Lisboa had Clark in trouble at many points throughout the fight. She rocked Clark with punching combinations and forced her opponent to defend a deep armbar for a lengthy period. Even with the fight firmly in her grasp with time running out, Lisboa kept hunting for a finish, and was able to tap Clark with just 40 seconds remaining in the fight.

The victory marked four straight for the Brazilian, which includes stoppages of every opponent. Lisboa’s prior appearance was over a year ago, where she submitted Conceicao Oliveira last April.
