Yair Rodriguez’s highlight reel is quite extensive.
The Mexican star has brought a whole new level of excitement to the UFC’s featherweight division ever since he joined the promotion in 2014. With his dynamic attacks and crazy knockouts, Rodriguez has given fans plenty to talk about.
Well, perhaps one of his best moments came when he faced Andre Fili at UFC 197 in 2016.
Rodriguez dominated Fili in almost all areas, out-grappling him and out-striking him for the majority of the fight. That all came crashing down when Rodriguez hit a jumping switch kick that connected cleanly on Fili. It was a brutal KO that got Rodriguez a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Rodriguez returns to the cage on Feb 11, as he’s set to fight for the interim featherweight title fight against Josh Emmett at UFC 284 in Australia.
Rodriguez (14-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) is coming off a first-round stoppage of former title challenger Brian Ortega in July. He’s 3-1 in his past four fights. His lone loss during that stretch came against former champion Max Holloway, a fight he lost by decision.
Emmett, (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) is running hot on a five-fight win streak. On his current run, he has defeated Michael Johnson, Mirsad Bektic, Shane Burgos, Dan Ige and Calvin Kattar.
