Marcin Tybura is arguably in his best career run, at least certainly in the UFC.
This latest streak for the UFC heavyweight veteran includes seven wins and just one defeat. He also has scored two $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses, with the first coming in December 2020.
Back at UFC Fight Night 183, Tybura put away former NFL standout Greg Hardy in a second-round TKO. He did have to endure a tough first round where Hardy connected plenty, but Tybura would eventually figure out Hardy to take him down and then put him away.
You can watch Tybura’s win over Hardy in the video above.
Tybura returns to the octagon this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 224 at The O2 in London. He takes on rising contender Tom Aspinall in a key heavyweight bout.
In this 7-1 run, Tybura (24-7 MMA, 11-6 UFC) has defeated notable names such as Ben Rothwell, Hardy, Blagoy Ivanov, Walt Harris and others. His lone defeat came in 2021 against Russia’s Alexander Volkov.
Aspinall (12-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC), on the other hand, hasn’t fought since losing his undefeated record in the UFC against Curtis Blaydes in a fight where he suffered a knee injury 15 seconds into the very first round. That fight took place in July also in London. Prior to the knee injury, Aspinall was on an eight-fight winning streak.
