Jailton Almeida’s rise in the UFC has been an impressive one.
The Brazilian heavyweight has passed every test put in front of him and, in his last one, looked to be a serious threat to the title. This past May, Almeida dominated veteran Jairzinho Rozenstruik to submit him with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their main event bout at UFC on ABC 4. Almeida earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his quick finish.

Almeida (19-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) returns to the cage this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 231, which goes down at Ginasio Do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo. He takes on former UFC title challenger Derrick Lewis (27-11 MMA, 18-9 UFC).
