Several UFC fighters have lost fights after walking out to songs by rap artist Moneybagg Yo and lightweight Uros Medic doesn't want to continue that 'curse'.
Welterweight champion Usman became the latest fighter to be struck by the curse, as he walked out to the song “Big League” by rappers Yo Gotti and Moneybagg Yo before his knockout loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 278. It's the first time Usman walked out to a song by the rapper in his UFC career, as the former champion typically changes his walkout track for each fight.
Medic, who fights Mike Davis at a UFC Fight Night event on October 1, said he will change his walkout music after the recent 'curse'. "Jamahal Hill walked out to Moneybag Yo against Paul Craig and lost, My walkout song against Turner was from Moneybagg Yo and I lost. Usman had Moneybagg Yo in his walk out song and lost," he tweeted. "I really like Moneybagg Yo, but I’m not walking out to his music no more…"

Medic went unbeaten in seven professional fights, but suffered his first defeat last year to Jalin Turner at UFC 266. Ironically, Medic walked out to the song "Rookie of the Year" by Moneybagg Yo for that fight. Top light-heavyweight Hill changed his music after walking out to Moneybagg Yo before losing to Craig at UFC 263 last June. Since changing his walkout song, Hill has gone unbeaten in three fights.
It's not the only time a music artist has been said to 'curse' UFC fighters by walking out to one of their songs. Many fighters who walk out to rap legend Eminem's songs go on to lose their respective fights. Former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz became the latest fighter to be affected by this, walking out to "Forgot About Dre" before his knockout loss to Marlon Vera earlier this month.
Rapper Drake has also haunted UFC fighters, but it's nothing to do with his music. The Canadian is an avid gambler and puts down large stakes on UFC fights, but more often than not the fighter he backs goes on to lose their respective bout. Drake put down big money on Jose Aldo and Usman to win at UFC 278, with the 'curse' proving true as they both lost their fights. Drake broke his bad run of gambling when he won £3million by betting on Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann 's fights last month.
