UFC Fight Night 224 takes place at The O2 in London. The event streams on ESPN+.
In the main event, England’s own Tom Aspinall (12-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) returns a year to the weekend after a knee injury 15 seconds into a London headliner. Recovered, he’ll take on Marcin Tybura (24-7 MMA, 11-6 UFC) to close the show. Plus, English fan favorite Molly McCann (13-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) takes on Julija Stoliarenko (10-7-1 MMA, 1-5 UFC) in the women’s flyweight co-feature.

Daniel Barez vs. Jafel Filho
Round 1 – They touch gloves and immediately trade leg kicks. Barez offers a fast two-punch combo. Filho darts forward as Barez circles away to reset and first off another leg kick. Barez lets his hands go again in a combo. He hurts Filho to the body. Filho drops to the canvas but Barez lets him back up. Barez cracks him again with a kick, and Barez is down. Once again, Barez lets Filho back up. Now Filho is landing hard punches. The momentum seems to be shifting as Filho ramps up his aggression and puts together hard combos. Barez covers up and Filho mixes it up with a nice takedown. Filho takes top position and transitions into full mount. He locks up the arm triangle and gets the tap! What a wild round and a crazy one-round comeback!

Bannon mainly taking the inside of the octagon, while Brasil stays on the outside. Clean one, two by Brasil followed by a leg kick. Oh! Head kick connects for Brasil! Bannon eats it well. Jab by Brasil. Big right hand by Brasil! These two are fairly even on strikes, but Brasil is clearly landing the better and harder shots. One minute left. Brasil now pushing Bannon. The bell rings.

Paul Craig vs. Andre Muniz
Round 1 – Craig’s middleweight debut begins with a hard leg kick to the body of Muniz. Muniz slaps back with a kick of his own. They’re still feeling each other out, offering single strikes at a time as they move about the octagon. Craig offers a teep, and Muniz spins with a kick to the body. A moment later, Craig attempts a spinning back kick of his own, but doesn’t land it. Midway through the round now and they’re still going single strike for single strike, almost all kicks. Craig charges forward with a punch and a head kick behind it which gets a reaction from the crowd. Muniz finds an opening for a head kick that lands flush, but somehow Craig just eats it. Under a minute to go, and Muniz catches a kick from Craig. He takes the fight to the ground and takes top position, landing a couple of punches to the body while Craig holds on.

Round 2 – Craig gets the action started with a combo, but Muniz defends well. But then Craig closes distance and gets a nice, clean body lock takedown. Craig stands up, and as he closes back in eats a hard upkick. Muniz starts to wrap up Craig on the mat. It’s a triangle attempt! Muniz goes to the armbar now. Craig slips out. Muniz scrambles his way to top position in full guard. Nice punches from Muniz on top. Muniz postures up and then drives back in head-first. The clash of heads causes the referee to pause the fight and take the position away from Muniz. He gives him a warning and the fight continues. Back at it now, Craig gets a takedown. Muniz immediately wraps Craig up again and tries to sweep, but Craig is ready for it and stays on top. Craig looks for the D’Arce choke now. It’s not quite in and Muniz rolls out, but Craig ends up in full mount. He’s raining down punches now. The crowd senses the finish. Craig with elbows now and they’re getting through! Muniz is hurt and the referee stops it. What a finish for Craig!

Fili with some nice jabs. Oh! Wood wobbles Fili! Wood all over him with ground-and-pound! Wood slowing down the attack a bit. Good elbows from top by Wood. Fili is cut up. Fili rocovers guard. Less than two minutes left. Fili gets back up. One minute left. Good jab and leg kick by Fili. The bell rings. Fun round.

Fili jumps on him and takes the back! He’s attempting a rear-naked choke. Fili transitioning to an rambar. Wood gets out and reverses the position! He takes Fili’s back. What a wild fight! Now fili reverses the position and is on top while in Wood’s guard. Goos shots from both. Fili keeps top control and ground-and-pound here and there until the bell.
