The UFC handed out four post-fight bonuses after Saturday’s card, including an award for a finish in the main event.
After UFC Fight Night 224, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in London. Check out the winners below.
'Performance of the Night': Paul Craig
In Paul Craig’s 24th professional fight, he decided to make a major change by moving from the light heavyweight division to middleweight. Fighters have seen mixed results when changing weight classes, but for “Bearjew,” his first appearance at a lighter weight was pretty impressive. He didn’t worry about grappling with a high-level black belt in Andre Muniz, and found a way to mount, and smash his opponent for a second-round TKO. No stranger to bonuses on fight night, Craig walks out of The 02 with his eighth $50,000 check.
'Performance of the Night': Tom Aspinall
Tom Aspinall didn’t need a lot of time to prove he’s fully recovered from an unfortunate knee injury. In fact, he fired off a hard kick early to test its strength. Soon after, he would be putting the finishing touches on Marcin Tybura after blitzing him with devastating punches. The fight was over in less than two minutes, and it was certainly a performance worthy of Aspinall’s fifth career UFC bonus.
'Fight of the Night': Jonny Parsons vs. Danny Roberts
In what ended up being the final preliminary bout at UFC Fight Night 224, Jonny Parsons and Danny Roberts turned in a wild battle at welterweight. The action was fast and heavy for as long as it lasted, resulting in some wild back-and-forth moments that saw both fighters land big shots. Ultimately, Parsons was more precise with his strikes, resulting in a second-round finish of Roberts. The fight was exciting enough to score both fighters an extra $50,000 for their efforts.
