UFC Fight Night 215 post-event facts: Jack Della Maddalena makes waves with third-straight KO

The UFC closed its November schedule on Saturday with UFC Fight Night 215, a decision-heavy event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

One fighter who didn’t need the judges, however, was Kennedy Nzechukwu (11-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC), who made the most of his makeshift main event opportunity with a second-round TKO of Ion Cutelaba (16-9-1 MMA, 5-8-1 UFC) in their light heavyweight clash.

Events stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $107,000.

Debuting fighters went 0-1 at the event.

Nzechukwu, Muslim Salikhov, Jack Della Maddalena and Natalia Silva earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 215 fight-night bonuses.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC Fight Night 215, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 9-1 on the card. One fight had even odds

Betting favorites improved to 24-15 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 11-bout card was 2:16:56.

Kennedy Nzechukwu def. Ion Cutelaba

Nzechukwu has earned all eight of his career stoppage victories by knockout.

Cutelaba’s three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since September 2021.

Cutelaba fell to 1-5-1 in his past seven fights dating back to February 2020.

Cutelaba has suffered eight of his nine career losses by stoppage.

Waldo Cortes-Acosta def. Chase Sherman

Waldo Cortes-Acosta (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) earned his second UFC victory in a 21-day span.

Cortes-Acosta has earned both of his UFC victories by decision.

Chase Sherman (14-11 MMA, 4-10 UFC) fell to 2-5 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in May 2020.

Salikhov (19-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has earned 15 of his 19 career victories by stoppage. He’s finished three of his UFC wins by knockout.

Andre Fialho (16-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has suffered all four of his career stoppage losses by knockout.

Della Maddalena (13-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) extended his winning streak to 13 fights after starting his career 0-2.

Della Maddalena has earned 12 of his 13 career victories by stoppage.

Della Maddalena has earned all three of his UFC victories by first-round knockout.

Della Maddalena’s three-fight UFC first-round knockout streak is tied for the second-longest among active fighters on the roster behind heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich (four).

Danny Roberts (18-7 MMA, 7-6 UFC) has suffered six of his seven career losses by stoppage.

Charles Johnson def. Zhalgas Zhumagulov

Zhalgas Zhumagulov’s (14-8 MMA, 1-5 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since July 2021.

Zhumagulov fell to 1-5 in his past six fights dating back to July 2020.

Zhumagulov has suffered four of his five UFC losses by decision.

Jennifer Maia def. Maryna Moroz

Jennifer Maia (20-9-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) has earned four of her five UFC victories by decision.

Maryna Moroz (11-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) fell to 3-1 since she moved up to the UFC women’s flyweight division in March 2019.

Moroz has suffered all four of her career losses by decision.

Vince Morales (11-7 MMA, 3-5 UFC) fell to 3-5 in his past eight fights dating back to July 2018.

Morales has suffered four of his five UFC losses by decision.

Ricky Turcios vs. Kevin Natividad

Ricky Turcios (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has earned eight of his 12 career victories by decision. That includes both of his UFC wins.

Kevin Natividad’s (9-4 MMA, 0-3 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since July 2020.

Natividad suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Vanessa Demopoulos’ (9-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) three-fight UFC winning streak at strawweight is tied for the second-longest active streak in the division behind Tatiana Suarez (five).

Demopoulos has earned six of her nine career victories by decision.

Maria Oliveira (13-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered both of her UFC losses by decision.

Natalia Silva def. Tereza Bleda

Silva (14-5-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned 12 of her 14 career victories by stoppage.

Silva earned the fifth knockout in UFC history stemming from a spinning back kick to the head.

Tereza Bleda (6-0 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had her six-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of her career.
