UFC champion Kamaru Usman jokes Paddy Pimblett put on 30lb in hours after win

Kamaru Usman has joked Paddy Pimblett has already put on 30lb after his UFC London victory.

Pimblett made a return to UFC action last night picking up his third professional victory over Jordan Leavitt with a second round submission. After his last win over Kazula Vargas, Pimblett had attracted critics after failing to keep his weight gain promise and ballooned to 205lb after a junk food binge.

Despite the critics, Pimblett made the weight cut successfully again weighing in at 156lb ahead of the meeting with Leavitt, before baring his bum in a message to those who criticised him at the weigh-in. "For everyone who tried to fat-shame me and say I'd miss weight or f***ing pull out, here's me a***," Pimblett said before pulling down his shorts and showing his bum.

After his victory over Leavitt, Pimblett kept to his tradition and ordered in a kebab which he was seen eating during the post-fight press conference. UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman made a joke about Paddy's fluctuating weight in a congratulations message on social media, tweeting: "I swear Paddy has put on 30lb since post fight lol. Congrats Paddy!"

After his last victory against Kazula Vargas, Pimblett tipped the scales at around 200lb during a video after going on a junk food binge. Pimblett has admitted to being a "foodie" with regards to his rapid weight gain but has always stuck to his vow of losing the weight and making 155lb every time he fights.

The Liverpudlian star trained hard and went on a strict diet during his camp to face Leavitt and managed to rid of the weight once again. Prior to his lifestyle change, Pimblett had admitted to consuming around 11,000 calories in one day after his victory.

His latest victory was his third in the UFC despite getting off to a difficult start during his second appearance in London. Leavitt was initially able to compete with Pimblett on the ground and doing a much better job than the 27-year-old's two previous opponents.

However the British star was roared on by a passionate crowd and was able to get his breakthrough in the second round, tightening a rear naked choke which saw his rival submit. Pimblett managed to get over the line once again which could see his next rival potentially be a top 15 contender.

Despite continuing his undefeated UFC streak, Pimblett was disappointed with his performance despite earning a significant financial bonus. “I said I wanted to finish him in the first round, so I was pretty disappointed in between rounds talking to my coaches," Pimblett said after the fight.

"I went into this fight with a lot of emotion, a lot of things on my mind so as I said in the cage after I was very critical of my performance. I think you saw that because I never come out and throw big shots but I tried to take his head off straight away."
