UFC boss Dana White refuses to give prediction for Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz

Dana White has refused to give a final prediction for Jake Paul's upcoming fight with ex-UFC star Nate Diaz.

YouTube star Paul has announced that he will make his return to the ring against MMA veteran Diaz on August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The 'Problem Child' has elected to take on the Stockton native after his rival's contract with the UFC expired following his win over Tony Ferguson last September.

It will be a tough ask for Paul with Diaz known for his striking skill and power in the UFC, but it remains unclear if that will translate to the squared circle in his debut. President of Diaz's ex-promotion White has wished the pair well in their lucrative clash and hopes that they are able to make significant wealth from the event.

"I don't want to s*** on other people's fights, like 'Oscar De La Weirdo' [De La Hoya] but I don't want to talk about the fight. First of all. neither guy is my guy, there's just no need for me to comment on it or whatever. I wish them the best and I hope they make a zillion dollars," White said.

Paul has been a vocal critic of UFC president White on social media regularly and even dropped a 'diss' track on the promotion's kingpin. The rivalry also stems back in the other direction, with the American promoter critical of Paul's boxing career in the past as he made his rise.

It will be the 26-year-old's latest boxing fight against a former UFC fighter having already beaten Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley twice after luring them into the squared circle. Diaz could even pose the biggest threat of them all, and may be in a position to hand the influencer a second career defeat.

Paul suffered a devastating loss to Tommy Fury last time out but has vowed to make a stronger comeback and return to the winning column. “My last fight didn’t end the way I wanted, but the result was the best thing that could have happened to my professional boxing aspirations," he said. "Now, the world thinks I am vulnerable, when all I am is more focused than ever.

"My team wanted me to take an easy fight like KSI next, but that’s not how I am built. Nate Diaz is considered one of the most bad-a** fighters of all time, but he and his team have been running their mouths for too long. Good for f***ing Nate. I haven’t forgotten about the slap backstage in Arizona, and on August 5th, a Problem Child is going to piece up and knock out the Stockton G.”
