LAS VEGAS – Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko inched closer to their UFC 306 trilogy bout Friday when they made weight for the historic contest.
In what will be the first women’s trilogy to ever be completed under the UFC banner, Grasso (16-3-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) will put the women’s flyweight title on the line against rival Shevchenko (23-4-1 MMA, 12-3-1 UFC) in the co-main event of Saturday’s card at Sphere (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPNews, ESPN+).
Both women were in outstanding shape for the previous fights, which ended in a Grasso upset win at UFC 285 in March 2023 and a split draw in the rematch at Noche UFC in September 2023, and that was the case again at official weigh-ins at the UFC Apex, where the champ was a pound under at 124. Shevchenko was 125 pounds on the nose.
