JERSEY CITY, N.J. – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC 302 fighter weigh-ins, where all but one fighters hit their marks.
In the main event, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev (25-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) puts his title on the line against former interim champ Dustin Poirier (30-8 MMA, 22-7 UFC). Poirier was the first fighter to the scale and was 155 on the nose. Makhachev was just two fighters behind him and was 155, as well, to make the title bout official without any drama.
Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier have never missed weight in their careers, and that trend continued for the #UFC302 main event. 👏 pic.twitter.com/xrag9h300T
