The UFC returns to the East Coast on Saturday for UFC 292 in Boston – and there are two title fights atop the card.
Here’s how to watch UFC 292 with the bantamweight and women’s strawweight belts on the line.
Broadcast and streaming info
UFC 292 has a main card that begins at 10 p.m. ET and streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view. The prelims air on ESPN, and also stream on ESPN+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET. And a trio of early prelims streams on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Main event: Aljamain Sterling
In the headliner, Aljamain Sterling (23-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) will put his bantamweight title on the line for the fourth time when he takes on Sean O’Malley. Sterling has won nine straight fights. He won the title against Petr Yan by disqualification in 2021, then defended it against him 13 months later. In October 2022, he knocked out former champ T.J. Dillashaw for his second defense and just 13 weeks ago beat former two-division titleholder Henry Cejudo to set up this one in Boston. Sterling’s win over Cejudo broke the UFC record for most consecutive bantamweight title defenses with three.
Main event: Sean O'Malley
Sean O’Malley (16-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) saw his star take off immediately with a viral knockout on the second episode of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017. When guest broadcast analyst Snoop Dogg proclaimed him a future UFC champion that night, the rise was on. At 8-1 in the UFC with seven post-fight bonuses and a win in October 2022 over ex-champ Petr Yan to set up a title shot, is O’Malley about to have his first title?
Co-main event: Zhang Weili
34-year-old Zhang Weili (23-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC) will put her women’s strawweight title on the line for the first time in her second reign as champion when she meets Amanda Lemos in the co-feature. Weili won the 115-pound belt in 2019 against Jessica Andrade in her home country of China. Then she beat ex-champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk with a split decision at one of the best fights of 2020. She lost the title to Rose Namajunas in 2021 and dropped a rematch with her, as well, before a bounce-back win over Jedrzejczyk to get a title shot against Carla Esparza. She recaptured the title this past November with a second-round rear-naked choke.
Co-main event: Amanda Lemos
Brazil’s Amanda Lemos (13-2-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) will get her first UFC title shot at 36 when she takes on Weili. Lemos dropped her UFC debut in 2017, but then went on a five-fight run. After a 2022 submission loss to ex-champ Jessica Andrade, she bounced back with a submission of Michelle Waterson and, this past November, a knockout of Marina Rodriguez.
Featured bout: Brad Tavares vs. Chris Weidman
In April 2021, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman suffered a severe broken leg when he threw a kick against Uriah Hall. It’s been a long recovery road for Weidman (15-6 MMA, 11-6 UFC), but he returns Saturday against Brad Tavares (19-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC), who nearly is a 3-1 favorite. After title defenses against Anderson Silva in a rematch, in which Silva broke his leg the same way Weidman did nearly eight years later, Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort, Weidman dropped the belt to Luke Rockhold. That set off a rough patch of six losses in eight fights, including the broken leg. But more than two years later, Weidman finally is set to return.
