The UFC is back with its fifth pay-per-view of the year, which means the popular “Embedded” fight-week video series is here to document what’s happening behind the scenes.
UFC 287 takes place Saturday at Miami-Dade Arena in Miami. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
In the main event, middleweight champion Alex Pereira (7-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) defends his title for the first time in a rematch with former champ Israel Adesanya (23-2 MMA, 12-2 UFC). Pereira upset Adesanya for the title this past November and also holds two kickboxing wins over him.
In the co-feature, Gilbert Burns (21-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) takes on Jorge Masvidal (35-16 MMA, 12-9 UFC) in a key welterweight fight. Plus, Rob Font (19-6 MMA, 9-5 UFC) takes on Adrian Yanez (16-3 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in a key bantamweight bout.
The fifth episode of “Embedded” follows the featured fighters while they get ready for fight week. Here is the UFC’s description of the episode from YouTube:
Jorge Masvidal enjoys the hometown spotlight; Gilbert Burns embraces the challenge. Adrian Yanez trains with Yves Edwards. The stars — including champ Alex Pereira and former king Israel Adesanya — sound off at the UFC 287 press conference. UFC 287 is on Saturday, April 8.
