A welterweight bout is the newest addition to UFC 284 – and it has some home country flavor to it.
American Randy Brown and Australian Jack Della Maddalena will collide at the Feb. 13 pay-per-view event at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
A person with knowledge of the booking confirmed the matchup Monday to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Brown first announced the bout on Twitch.
Brown (16-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) rides a four-fight winning streak into the matchup including victories over Alex Oliveira, Jared Gooden, Khaos Williams, and most recently Francisco Trinaldo. Since the start of 2019, Brown is 6-1 with his only loss against Vicente Luque.
Della Maddalena (13-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) broke through big in his inaugural UFC calendar year. In 2022, Della Maddalena went 3-0 with three first-round finishes over Pete Rodriguez, Ramazan Emeev, and Danny Roberts.
